Like Multisim, but a free browser lab for digital logic
Multisim (Multisim Electronics Workbench) from NI, now part of Emerson, is SPICE simulation and circuit design software for analog, digital and power electronics in education and research. The desktop software runs on Windows (version 14.3 came out in May 2025) and is sold as subscription or perpetual licenses, with a 7-day free trial and a student download. Multisim Live is an online version that you can try for free. If that is what brought you here, digiwleea is a free, in-browser alternative with a different angle: you build a computer from the transistor up.
What Multisim is good at
Multisim is an industry-standard tool: SPICE simulation in an interactive schematic lets you see how a real circuit behaves before you build it, it is designed for teaching circuit theory across an engineering curriculum, and the designer edition adds PCB design. Multisim Live adds a touch-friendly online version with over 30,000 community circuits. (digiwleea is an independent project, not affiliated with NI or Emerson.)
How digiwleea is different
digiwleea covers one slice of that world, digital logic, and takes it all the way up. You build NOT, NAND and every other gate from CMOS transistors treated as switches, then adders, latches, registers, RAM and control logic, up to a working 8-bit CPU you program in assembly, following a guided 40+ level course with an AI tutor (Wleea). The lab and the first act are free in any browser. Multisim is the better pick for analog and power circuits, real component values and PCB work; digiwleea is the better pick for learning how logic and computers work from the ground up.
| Multisim | digiwleea | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Analog, digital and power electronics (SPICE) | Digital logic, transistor to CPU |
| Runs on | Windows desktop; Multisim Live online | Any modern browser, nothing to install |
| Price | Subscription or perpetual license; 7-day trial | Free lab and Act I; Premium for the full course |
| PCB design | Yes (designer edition) | No |
| Guided course to a CPU | No (a simulation tool) | Yes, 40+ levels |
No sign-up is needed to start: open the lab and place your first transistor, or read the free theory course. The account (and the AI tutor) are optional.
See for yourself: build a logic gate from transistors in the simulator, then follow the path from sand to an 8-bit CPU.

Is digiwleea a good Multisim alternative?
Yes, if you want to understand digital logic from the ground up. digiwleea is a free, in-browser simulator with a guided 40+ level course where you build every gate from CMOS transistors and work up to a real 8-bit CPU, with an AI tutor to help.
Is digiwleea free?
The sandbox lab and the first act of the course are free and need no sign-up. An optional account adds the AI tutor and cross-device sync; the full course and expanded AI tutoring are included in the monthly or annual Premium subscription.
Do I need to install anything?
No. digiwleea runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile, and works offline once loaded.
